We are offering a 2-day,
16-hour seminar, in Sept (repeated in October). Only 12 pairs (24 people) per class
– space limited! Cost: $300 / seminar - those that
register 1-week before the seminar will get a treatment DVD,
$24.95 value for free. Please make checks payable to
“West Coast College”. Handouts and the CTS book will be provided
for each seminar. It is suggested that you split the two
days between Sept & Oct to lighten the load!
Seminar
#1, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fri. September 29 or Fri. October 13, from 8 am to 5 pm:
8 to 12: Deep Therapeutic Massage for: 1) spasm
(trigger point release, and spray & stretch 'icing'), 2)
identifying and treating fibrous tissue, and 3) edema (swelling
and lymphatic). Review of the causative factors of myospasm
including: ergonomics, stress, diet and exercise. CTS overview,
including anatomy and differential diagnosis.
12 to 1: Lunch
1 to 3: Carpal Tunnel Release (treatment for the
neck, shoulder, arm and hand). “Hands on”.
Additional techniques (home care, stretching, rehab exercises,
icing, braces and taping).
3 to 5:
Carpal Tunnel ‘from evaluation to treatment’ & competency exam
(this is optional and done in front of the class as a learning
experience for those watching.

#2,
Chronic Pain
Presentations,
Sat. September 30 or Sat. October 14, from 8 am to 5 pm:
8 to 12: Headache, Neck pain, and Jaw (TMJ) Pain
(diagnosis, anatomy & palpation, treatment). Non-thrust
mobilization of the shoulder and neck is reviewed.
12 to 1: Lunch
1 to 5: Foot,
Leg and Hip pain (anatomy, biomechanical relationships,
presentations and treatment). Foot, Leg, and Hip Pain (review
and discourse on short leg determinations, orthotics, rehab and
home care).
Certification Test
for each seminar: certified practitioners will be posted
on Dr. Rahn’s website and recommended to patients. A printed
certificate will be provided as well. In order to be certified,
you must be able to evaluate, and treat a ‘patient’ with
competency! These seminars have been submitted for CEU
credit. Training DVDs available on request. |
